About the #iwill campaign

Young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow. They have the energy, skills and ideas to change society and environment for the better today. We must support and empower them to be active citizens, both now and in the future.

The #iwill campaign wants to make participation in social action the norm for young people under 20. Currently 4 in 10 young people participate in meaningful social action. Those from less affluent communities are much less likely to take part than their wealthier peers.

To achieve this, the #iwill campaign communicates with, connects and challenges organisations across the UK so that they embed support for youth social action into their culture and practice.

About the #iwill fund

The #iwill Fund is made possible thanks to £40 million joint investment from The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to support young people to access high quality social action opportunities.

The #iwill Fund brings together a group of organisations who all contribute funding to embed meaningful social action into the lives of young people.

The #iwill Fund supports the aims of the #iwill campaign - to make involvement in social action a part of life for young people, by recognising the benefit for both young people and their communities.

By bringing together funders from across different sectors and by making sure that young people have a say in where the funding goes – the #iwill Fund is taking a collaborative approach.

About The Centre for Education and Youth

CFEY is an education and youth ‘think and action-tank’. We believe society should ensure all children and young people receive the support they need to make a fulfilling transition to adulthood.

We provide the evidence and support policy makers and practitioners need to support young people.

We use our timely and rigorous research to get under the skin of issues affecting young people in order to shape the public debate, advise the sector and campaign on topical issues. We have a particular interest in issues affecting marginalised young people
